The Scientific Facts: Understanding Meditation's Impact
Your inner world controls your outer world. Close your eyes. What do you see, hear, and feel? Do you see difficulty or possibility? Do you hear criticism or cheerleading? And do you feel chaos or harmony? The more familiar you become with your world within, the deeper the connection, trust, and love becomes. This is the start to a life-long relationship. Meditation is a form of cleaning out your home. We physically clean our houses. We let out our emotions. And when you meditate you clean out your mental home. This releases the clutter and brings greater clarity and focus. Imagine you are clearing out the daily overload of information that is adding to your stress. Research shows that meditation aids forgiveness.
Did you know that meditation is used to regulate the nervous system? Fun fact, the autonomic nervous system is what controls the physiological stress responses. Meditating daily for as little as 10 to 20 minutes will lower heart rate, respiration rate, and increase blood flow to the brain. Meditation appeases the sympathetic system and arouses the parasympathetic system. Imagine a life with less stress and more inner peace. Meditation existed before science, it dates back to 5,000 BCE with ties to ancient Egypt and China. Including major religions such as Buddhism, Hinduism, Jainism, Sikhism, Judaism.
Meditation improves your overall quality of life. How? When your mind is clear and calm, you are in a better state to overcome adversity. Managing your emotional well-being becomes a skill and not a chore. When the mind is equanimous and the emotions are balanced. You have a rewarding recipe for overall health. And the best part of all is when you meditate the calm and clarity you gather goes with you throughout your day. What science is saying about meditation and its multitude of backed studies on the many benefits it offers its disciples.
The Power Within: Exploring the Three Minds in Meditation
Meditation holds a key to inner power and potential. Within each of us, there is a place, a sacred place, where we can go, and create what we would be, do, and have. In other words, human being, human doing, human having. If the world without is a reflection of your world within, the power to create your reality has been within your control this entire time. Remember that the way out is in and there are layers to discover.
Did you know that you have three minds that are interconnected? And that you can access theses minds through meditation. You must be wondering… What are the three minds? According to one of psychology’s most famous Doctors, Sigmund Freud; there are the Conscious, Unconscious, and Preconscious. Modern psychology refers to the minds as the Id, Ego, and Superego. In other words, your instincts, reality, and morality. For the purposes of this article, I will be referring to the three minds as the Conscious, Unconscious, and Higher mind. Neuroscience and quantum physics are leading the way with the latest research on reality and our perception. Surprisingly we only see under 10% of our reality. Where’s the other 90% that we do not see? The information is received through the three minds. The conscious mind or the 10% is connected to the unconscious mind who is connected to the higher mind, which is receiving the other 90% of information. One of the secrets to accessing the 90% is through daily meditation. It is only through the momentum will you develop the inner world.
Crystal Clear: Enhancing Meditation with Crystals
Did you know that you can power-up your meditations using crystals? Every single crystal out there has its own frequency and metaphysical properties. How do you know which crystal to pick? If this article has deeper meaning into your intuition and the world within. I believe that you will be guided to the crystal you are meant to take into meditation with you. Some of the top crystals for meditation are 1) clear quartz for its psychic ability properties by awakening your crown chakra and balancing your chakras. 2) Selenite for connection to the crown chakra and for its ability to clear negative energy. 3) Amethyst which connects to your 3rd eye chakra and your intuition. This crystal will enhance your meditation. 4) Rose quartz is associated with the heart chakra and represents universal love. This promotes self-love. 5) Black tourmaline helps especially with negative energies and shifts negative mindsets. It’s a great crystal for healing. Now how do you meditate with them? First set an intention and follow your internal GPS, it will know which crystal to pick. you may place it on you, next to you or in your hand during meditation. Remember to clear and cleanse your crystals by placing them under the full moon.
Living in the Now: Embracing Mindfulness Through Meditation
I would like to share with you some wisdom I’ve learned throughout the varied 10-day vipassana courses I’ve attended. Most of us live in the past or the future which indicates we are operating within the limits of our conscious mind. That mind is fantastic for logistics and planning. And it is not who you are. Who you are is found in the present moment, in between the thoughts and the reactions. Meditation allows me to live in the now, bringing greater awareness to my body, its atoms, and my surroundings. Sitting with all my pain and pleasure without reacting to them. Being neutral, observing and accepting of them all. With each breath in and out, I sharpen my mind and become more aware. This allows me to face all aspects of myself and accept them with love, compassion, and tolerance. As well as for the aspects I will face when I am not meditating. Meditation is the bridge that connects all minds, all power, and all wholeness. I practice with devotion and dedication.
